Bird Families of the World

Chabert Vanga

Vangas comprise a group of often shrike-like medium-sized birds distributed from Asia to Africa, including the vangas of Madagascar to which the family owes its name. A group of birds with a bewildering array of bill types perfectly suited to the types of vegetation that evolved around them.

The family is Vangidae.

There are 39 species placed in 21 genera.

So far I have photographed 13 different species. In case I photographed the male and the female I have added a photograph of both.

To make it easier you can find the genus name combined with the species name (visible when displaying the photograph)
