A morning near Ronda
Again I went out looking for the Golden Oriole. There are several places where I know that they are. The big problem is to see them, and more to see them well and be able to get them on a photo.
Good places are there where you find Popular trees with quite a lot of water. You normally hear them everywhere, but seen for more than a split second is not that easy. Around Ronda there are many interesting birding sites, and you never get the feeling that you loose your time waiting for a special bird.
This time a nightingale came close and was singing his lungs out for more than 10 minutes. It gave me some very shots of this fantastic bird. Nightingales are easy to find around Ronda. They are even breeding in my own garden. I also saw a pair of Great-spotted Woodpeckers having a nest with young-ones.
They were very busy carrying food. One of those gae me the opportunity to take a nice photo. The most interesting bird I saw this morning probably was the Iberian Chiffchaff (According to Peter Jones, biologist-senior-birding guide). If you like to see more of that bird have a look at the Galleries of Spain.
Again I was not lucky with my Golden Oriole, and probably I will not get many more possibilities this year, but never say never. We will see and you with me
