In July 2007 I made a short trip to the Sichuan Province in China. Sichuan is together with the neighbouring province Yunnan very interesting for birders.

Starting from Chengdu the Capital of Sichuan we have visited 2 interesting birding sites. The first one,  south of Chengdu, in the Wawushan Mountains and the second one north of Chengdu near Wolong. This place is known because of the Wolong Giant Panda Breeding Centre.

I found the region very interesting and  Spanish Nature planned to organize a birding tour to this beautiful part of Spain. Unfortunatelly they had to postpone this tour for at least 2 years, due to the extremely heavy earthquake in 2008. We maintain close contacts with the local people to be updated about the repairs of the infra structure. To get an idea of the birds in this region I have posted some photos (unfortunatelly I was not in the position to take more)

My first visit to China was in 2005. Visiting some interesting highlands ....
